When marketplace listings fail to publish or connections break, here's how to diagnose and fix the issue.
Authentication Expired
Symptom: Marketplace shows "Auth Expired" in Settings, listings fail to publish.
Fix:
- Go to Settings → Marketplace Integrations
- Find the affected marketplace
- Click Reconnect
- Complete the OAuth authorization flow again
- Return to ListForge — status should show "Active"
Your existing listings and data are preserved. Reconnecting just refreshes the auth token.
Marketplace auth tokens expire periodically — this is normal and expected. eBay tokens typically last 18 months, while others may be shorter. Just reconnect when prompted.
Listing Publish Failed
Symptom: You clicked Publish but the listing shows "Error" status instead of "Listed."
Common causes and fixes:
Missing Required Fields
The marketplace requires certain fields that aren't filled in. Check the error detail — it will tell you exactly which field is missing. Common culprits:
- Condition (eBay) — must be set for most categories
- Item Specifics (eBay) — some categories require specific attributes like Brand, MPN, Color
- Product Type (Amazon) — needs to map to a valid Amazon product category
Invalid Category
The category assigned doesn't exist or isn't available to your seller account. Some marketplace categories require seller approval before you can list in them (e.g., certain Amazon categories require ungating).
Fix: Change the item's category to one you're authorized to sell in, then retry.
Image Issues
Marketplaces have image requirements (minimum resolution, no watermarks, specific aspect ratios).
Fix: Check the marketplace's image requirements and re-upload compliant photos.
Listing Shows "Ended" Unexpectedly
Possible causes:
- The marketplace ended it for a policy violation — check your marketplace seller dashboard for notices
- The listing duration expired (eBay fixed-duration listings)
- A sync update detected the listing was removed on the marketplace side
Fix: Check the listing status on the marketplace directly. If there's no violation, you can re-publish from ListForge.
Sync Not Updating
Symptom: An item sold on the marketplace but ListForge still shows it as "Listed."
Fix:
- Marketplace syncs run periodically, not instantly. Wait 15–30 minutes.
- You can trigger a manual sync from the item's detail page
- If sync consistently fails, reconnect the marketplace account
General Troubleshooting Steps
- Check marketplace connection status — is the account Active?
- Read the error detail — ListForge shows specific error messages from the marketplace
- Check the marketplace directly — log into your eBay/Amazon/Facebook seller dashboard and look for alerts
- Reconnect if auth-related — when in doubt, reconnecting solves most auth issues
- Retry after fixing — once you've addressed the issue, retry the publish
Most listing errors are caused by marketplace-specific requirements that the AI couldn't fully validate. The error message always tells you what's wrong — read it carefully before troubleshooting.
