Getting Started with ListForge

ListForge turns the most tedious parts of reselling - identifying products, researching prices, and creating listings - into a streamlined workflow powered by AI. Here's how to get up and running.

Create Your Account

Sign up at app.list-forge.ai with your email or use Google/Apple sign-in. You'll be asked to name your organization - this is your reselling business. All your items, listings, and team members live under this org.

Capture Your First Item

The fastest way to add an item is through the mobile app:

  1. Open the ListForge mobile app and tap the capture button
  2. Take 2-4 photos: front, back, any labels or markings, and any flaws
  3. Optionally add a title hint (e.g., "vintage Canon camera") to help the AI
  4. Tap Submit

That's it. The AI takes over from here.

If you don't have the mobile app yet, you can also create items manually from the web dashboard by clicking New Item and filling in the details yourself.

Wait for AI Research

Once you submit, ListForge's AI research pipeline kicks in automatically. It runs through four phases:

  1. Identification - recognizes the product from your photos
  2. Field Research - gathers the attributes needed for the Item and its eBay Listing
  3. Pricing - analyzes comparable sales to determine value
  4. Listing Generation - creates an eBay-ready Listing

This typically takes 2-5 minutes. You'll see the progress on the item's detail page.

Review the Results in Tasks

When research needs your approval, it appears in Tasks at /tasks. There you'll see:

  • The AI's identification (product name, brand, model)
  • Comparable sales it found, with prices and links
  • A recommended price range across three strategies
  • The generated eBay Listing details

Review the evidence and Listing. If it looks good, approve the Task. If something is off, edit the relevant fields or reject the work and try again with better photos.

Connect eBay

Before you can publish a Listing:

  1. Open Marketplaces in the sidebar, or go to /settings/marketplaces
  2. Find eBay and select Connect eBay Account
  3. Complete eBay's authorization flow
  4. Return to ListForge and confirm that the account is connected

eBay is the only marketplace connection available today. Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, Etsy, Depop, and Mercari are coming soon.

Publish Your First eBay Listing

Once the Item's research is approved and eBay is connected:

  1. Open the Item from My Items or Inventory at /items
  2. Open its Listings tab
  3. Review the eBay title, description, price, category, item specifics, and shipping details
  4. Adjust anything you want
  5. Select Publish

Your Listing is now live on eBay.

What's Next?

  • Capture in batches - the real power is processing many items at once
  • Use the Lightning Estimator for quick value checks before committing to full research
  • Open Home for an overview, use Tasks for work that needs your attention, and use My Items or Inventory to track every Item
